CMU marker placement set for model2354

Post by Michał Wołek » Tue Apr 02, 2019 6:49 am

Hey guys,

Im doing my engineering paper using CMU mocap data in OpenSim. Does any of you have marker placements for those mocaps? They're using VICON marker placement and I know where the markers should be, but I don't know their exact positions in coordinates. Because of that I can't scale model properly.

Help! :(

Hello,

How are the CMU markers defined? Without that it would be hard to help you out. Please provide more details.

Thank you,
-Ayman

Hey,

It's the standard marker set defined by VICON mocap system. I've already placed the markers on the model, but I did it using my eyes in the places where supposed markers are supposed to be. It's not that bad, scaling works, but i see quite annoying effects after scaling, like knee markers going literally inside the knee or unequal height of shoulder markers, even though my placement on the model has equal heights. Maybe just the records are flawed or the markers weren't placed with paying attention to accuracy when recording. I just want to have this marker placement as accurate as possible, maybe some of users have used CMU mocap records and have had satisfying results.
