Mot file creation

Post by Johnapaul Allagoa » Tue Jun 04, 2019 11:34 am

I am a student of the university of Hertfordshire

I am undertaking the topic Experimental and numerical importance of investing and and wrist motions using Opensim as my final year project

I am to use a wrist model for investigating the index and thumb for my project and to load the file and will need to create an mot file

I encountered a problem when using the header on opensim 4

The website was that the mot file header on opensim stanford edu has been outdated

I have not been able to see where to get an updated version of the header and cannot get a hold of it anywhere

The motion header used was

Coordinates
nRows
nColumns

Units are S I units second metres Newton
Angles in degrees

endheader

After putting in my variables with PIP DIP MCP2 Thumb flexibility and thumb abduction

this showed that it could not load the file

It would be most graterful that I get a positive reply on the new and updated header for the mot file

There are example MOT files in the Resources folder. See, for example, C:\OpenSim 4.0\Resources\Models\Arm26\OutputReference\InverseKinematics\arm26_InverseKinematics.mot (assuming C:\OpenSim 4.0\ is your installation directory). You can install these example files (models, scripts, etc.) by typing installResources() in the Scripting Shell if you haven't done this already.
