Wrapping surfaces

Hi all,

I am trying to understand how wrapping surfaces are implemented. I came across the following link:
viewtopicPhpbb.php?f=91&t=7706&p=20467&start=0&view=
which briefly discusses the 'quadrant' tag, but I am still uncertain as to what its purpose is, could someone please explain its purpose? I have seen in some models that it is set to '-x' or 'x', but I cannot seem to find any documentation outlining the input argument.

Secondly, could someone please explain the 'range' tag within PathWrapSet? I have seen in the Lai 2017 model it is set as: (-1,-1) for a few of the surfaces, but I cannot seem to figure out its purpose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nicos Haralabidis

Hi Nicos,

I'm fairly sure the quadrant tag relates to the section/part of the surface that the path wraps over/around. If you change the tag in the GUI I'm fairly sure you can see a visual change in the wrapping surface (e.g. for a cylinder if it is set as 'all' it looks like a full cylinder, but if you set it to 'x' it changes to a half cylinder). I believe it's purpose is to ensure that your path wraps over the desired direction rather than switching in certain positions.

Unsure about the range tag though.
