How to create ideal muscles which only generate a*Fom force

Post by XIAODONG HE » Tue Jan 07, 2020 5:55 am

Hi there
I'm trying to create 'ideal' muscles which can ignore the force-length-velocity relationship, passive fiber force, tendon compliance, etc. and only generate active fiber force. The existing muscles such as Millard2012EquilibriumMuscle and Thelen2003Muscle seem to not be able to act as such an ideal force generator. How to create?

Many thanks
Daniel

There are a couple strategies you might try. One is to use the Millard muscle with a rigid tendon and edit the curves (e.g., make the passive force-length curve zero at all lengths). Alternatively, you could create your own PathActuator class.
