To Represent A muscle with 2 line segments

Post by Shivangi Giri » Thu Mar 26, 2020 2:53 pm

Hi,
Most of the muscles in OpenSIM models are modeled are single line elements. I wish to split a single line muscle like Rectus Femoris into two. The goal was to provide better representation and stability to the knee joint. I tried splitting the muscle by dividing the muscle volume into half and calculating the individual maximum isometric force, keeping the pennation angle and fiber length same. But I feel this is not the right way.
Does anyone here have tried to do so? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Shivangi
