OpenSense (Working with IMU Placer)

I am trying to work with OpenSense, and would like to know if we can modify the position of IMUs for the calibrated model generated using IMU Placer. I tried to read OpenSim documentation for IMU placer but couldn't find or maybe understand any topic pointing toward this. Please suggest how could modify the postions of IMU.

Also, in the example of working with OpenSense the line in IMU Placer: <sensor_to_opensim_rotations>-1.5707963267948966 0 0</sensor_to_opensim_rotations>
is this represents the initial rotation between Base IMU (Pelvis) to OpenSim ground frame?

Thanks
Divyansh

Hello,

After calibration, you can load the model in the OpenSim application. At this point the IMUs show in the navigator under the corresponding bodies. Each one has translation and rotation properties (when you select the imu object in the navigator, the corresponding properties show in the properties window) at this point you can change the location, orientation or both to match what you want, save the model and then use this new model for IK with IMU data. If the IMUPlacer didn't put the IMUs in the correct orientation, please let us know so we can investigate.

Best regards,
