Muscle fiber length calculation

Hello,
I'm using OpenSim to estimate muscle fiber length during dynamic tasks.
Here are the different steps I did:
I first scaled the model for each subject using Vicon static data. Then Inverse Kinematic was used to estimate the angles during the dynamic task (using dynamic vicon data). Finally, muscle fibers length was plot. During the whole process, I never used any CMC. Thus muscle fibers length was estimated without muscle excitation or activation used as input.
In the version of Opensim I have there are two methods (i.e., Schutte1993 and Thelen2003) to estimate fibers lengths. In Thelen2003, activation dynamics are needed. Given that I didn't used any muscle excitation as input, I would like to know how the muscle fibers lengths are estimated during static and dynamic motions.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Best regards,
Pauline
