Use EMG data as input to Forward Dynamic

Post by Elham Mottaghi » Mon Sep 28, 2020 2:15 pm

Dear all,

I have a problem with Forward Dynamic in Opensim4.1. I would be appreciated if you could help me.

I have Experimental EMG data that was recorded from a CP person while he walked in normal speed. I want to run Forward Dynamic with EMG data. Is it possible to run Forward Dynamic in this way? I inserted EMG data of each muscle as muscle excitation in the control file in forward dynamic and I expected to achieve a normal speed walking motion. But It wasn't obtained. Does anybody know what is the problem? Could you please introduce a project or paper that can help me to resolve this problem?

I look forward to hearing from you,

Thank you,
Elham

Using EMG directly into a model is an open-loop control problem, and pretty much impossible to succeed even for the simplest of motions. You should take a look at some of the documentation (e.g., the page on OpenSim workflows at https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... +Workflows) and think about your research question to figure out what type of study to do.
