Dear experts

I have installed OpenSim 1.8,but I can't import Stanford VA upper limb model. The messeges show that 'At least one DOF must be a "simple" function of gencoord deviation (2 points, slope=1, passes thru zero).'
Can you help me solve this problem?

Best regards

Hi Kai,

I sent you a message through simtk.org regarding
this, so that I can send you the converted model
directly. Also, we will post converted OSIM versions
of the wrist model and the upper extremity model
to their respective project pages in the near
future.

Regards,
Peter

Hi,

Given that this seems to be a bug with OpenSim 1.8, one thing that works is to import the model with the previous version of OpenSim and save it. Then you should be able to open the saved model with the most recent version.

Hi Peter,

Do you have the converted OSIM versions of the upper extremity model ready for posting yet? I have downloaded the July 25, 2008 version and am running into this same error. Kaan suggests loading the model using the previous version, but that means I need to load the previous version onto my computer.

Thanks,
Liz

Dear Liz,

Pete's fixes have been incorporated into version 1.8.1 of the software. Please download it and re-import. If you run into problems please let us know.

Good Luck,
