Hello,
I am quite new to OpenSim and excited by its possibilities.
My question is regarding the determination of inertia parameters (i.e. masses and inertia tensors) of the models. The standard methods seems to be to estimate them during the scaling process.
As I understood, this is usually based on visual perception of the regarded human.
For me, from a mechanical perspective, it would be intuitive to perform some movements and static poses on a force/torque measuring plattform and to do parameter identification then. This approch was also used here: Venture et al.: Realtime identification software for human whole-body segment parameters using motion capture and its visualization interface (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/5209622)
I could not find an implementation of this in OpenSim. Has something like this already been tried in OpenSim? If not, is there a reason why?
Thanks in advance and best regards
