Foot-ground contact for forward dynamics analysis

Dear OpenSim experts:
Could anyone give me some advices on the following questions:
I am using a forward dynamics analysis to simulate walk activity after CMC (Computed Muscle Control), I am just wondering:
(1) Do I need to model the ground-foot contact during the forward dynamics if I already applied a ground reaction force during the forward dynamics simulation?
(2) Or do I need to just model the ground-foot contact without providing the ground reaction force during the forward dynamics simulation?
It would be appreciated if anyone can help to provide answers. Thanks in advance.
