Single Sensor (IMU) Rotation in GUI

We are trying to rotate a single IMU sensor using the GUI, but are not sure what OpenSim is doing when we change the rotation of a single sensor to the one we want. When we change the rotation, press enter, a new value appears. What is OpenSim doing in the background and what is the new value that is provided?
