hi guys,
we (an engineering team from TU Berlin) want to design a medical exoskeleton and compete at cybernautics in zurich in 2024. For this we want to record different movements in our gait lab and simulate them later in a software. The goal is to schematically integrate the various components of the exoskeleton into the software. We also want to integrate controllers and actuators into the software and validate them (this will be a difficult task haha).
Now to my question: I am currently looking for a suitable software to integrate the motion capture data, create a multi-body simulation and then later integrate the exoskeleton and actuators. I don't have much experience with multibody systems and I know that it won't be easy. But we are a big motivated team.
Do you think OpenSim is the right software for this and my task could be implemented with it? Or do you have experience with such tasks and can you recommend another software?
I am totally happy about an answer.
Best regards from berlin, simon

A good place to start to learn what OpenSim can do is the documentation site, and in particular the page on the Overview of OpenSim Workflows: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... +Workflows
For your specific use cases, looking at what software other groups have used is also a place to start. One example (of many) that uses OpenSim for a similar use case: https://www.mdpi.com/2306-5354/9/2/71
