Schutte1993Muscle tendon "norm length"

Post by Simon Harrison » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:19 am

Hi,

When using a Schutte 1993 muscle, you can specify a force-length curve for the tendon. However, I am not sure how this curve is normalised.

What is the x-axis - the "norm length"?

Is it total tendon length / tendon rest length? Or displacement / tendon rest length (i.e. strain)

The default curve increases from zero (suggesting a strain type measure), but increases to a value of "10" before tapering to a constant value (possibly suggesting a strain measure as "10" percent?)

Is the "norm length" the tendon strain expressed as a percentage?
