Issues Trying to Install Software

Post by Alan Jenks » Tue Jan 24, 2023 9:26 pm

I am trying to install software but I am gettting an error opening file for writing and either have to abort skip or ignore and if I click ignore multiple times it eventually installs but won't open? Not sure what I have done wrong.

Hi, there are some tips in this regard:

https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... monWindows
https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... patibility
You must choose a folder where OpenSim will be able to write to files (e.g., on Windows, you cannot install to "C:/Program Files/OpenSim 4.0", since this is a system folder).
Hope this helps.

Hi Alan,

Are you trying to install OpenSim to use through Matlab? Mohammadreza is right -- you should make sure you install OpenSim in a directory where you have permissions.

Best,
Nick
