Scaling Error and its definition

Greetings every one!
I have been facing this uncertainty in my analysis: The scaling error.
Right now my scaling errors are around 9 cm ~ 11 cm and IK RMS errors are below 2 cm and IK max error are below 4 cm.
My understanding from the scaling errors is pretty much "how much the virtual markers move, and therefore the virtual model move and scales, in order to match the subject in the experiment". Therefore, having a high scaling error is common, since some markers might need to move a lot to match the experiment.
So, my question is: how much of the scaling error is acceptable? And, specially, if it is ok to expect high errors, since the markers have to move to match the experiment.
