Question about joint moment......

Hi,

When we talk about the total knee flexion/extension moment of all the muscles crossing the knee joint, about which anatomical point are we calculating moments. Also, we would have to resolve the net moment of all the muscles along a certain direction to specifically isolate the flexion moment. How is this direction determined??
