Scale Model error(step 3: Placing markers on model)

Post by Yun Hwan Lee » Tue Jan 30, 2024 4:01 pm

Hello! I am currently using OpenSim for the first time (OpenSim 4.5).
I have encountered the following issues:
I performed a preliminary experiment and analysis, exported the data using Vicon to a CSV file, and converted it to a TRC file using the Lee & Son tool.
When I load the experimental data, the markers appear without any problems. However, when I apply the TRC file to scale the model using the Full-body Squat Model, the messages "Step 3: Placing markers on model" and "Executing scaling" keep appearing, and there are no changes.

I would appreciate your assistance.

Best regards,
Lee

Hi Lee,

Can you do the scaling without placing markers? At least this will help us identify the problem area. From there it's an IK problem utilizing some fixed/anatomical markers followed by moving the non-fixed markers. Note that to solve the IK problem the model needs to be able to move/adjust coordinate values so if coordinates are locked or clamped you may not get a good solution though the solver shouldn't hang.

Hope this helps,
-Ayman
