In Static optimization, what exactly do performance and constraint violation relate to and how are they calculated?

Thanks!

Hi Moe,

Static Optimization tries to minimize an Objective Function that is the sum of squares (or cubes if exponent is set to 3) of muscle activations, subject to the constraint of matching accelerations computed for the supplied motion.

So, the constraint violation is the acceleration constraint matching error. The performance is the sum of squares (or cubes) of muscle activations.

Hope this helps,
