Mac OSX Install Problems, library not loaded

Post by Lars Focke » Sun Apr 11, 2010 4:48 am

I installedthe toolktiand did what the instructions told me to do ($ export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/SimTK/lib using my path). I still get this message:

/Developer/SimTK/bin/AuxInstallCheck ; exit;
MBP:~ usr$ /Developer/SimTK/bin/AuxInstallCheck ; exit;
dyld: Library not loaded: libSimTKsimbody_aux.dylib
Referenced from: /Developer/SimTK/bin/AuxInstallCheck
Reason: image not found
Trace/BPT trap
logout

What do I have to do?
Thanks for help!

Dear Lars,

I think this question belongs to the SimTKCore mailing list, so please repost the question there.

A Mac OSX build of the OpenSim libraries will be available within few days (but will not include the GUI).

Good luck,
-Ayman

Hello Ayman,

I downloaded the Mac Version of OpenSim and simply have no idea what to do just reading the Installation Instructions... could you help me? I put the extracted folder in Developer and called it OpenSim. Where do I have to input what?

Thanks for help!
Lars

P.S.: The windows version is not running with parallels - tried on two machines, both tell me installer corrupt :-(

Lars,

The Mac "Beta" build is only for API/library use as it has no GUI. You can compile your own main (use the steps and examples in the Developers' Guide: https://simtk.org/docman/view.php/91/13 ... sGuide.pdf). You can also use some provided command line utilities (included under bin folder of the distribution) to Scale, run IK, CMC, or forward dynamics.

Hope this helps,
-Ayman

Hi Andrea,

thanks for your answer. How did you do it? I can open the install-file within Parallels/XP, but then it just stops and tells me that the installer might be corrupt. I tried to reload it, same result.

Any ideas?

Lars

Hi Lars,
I try on a new XP VM machine (1st time installing Opensim) and after decompressing the file the installation start. Then VC++ 2005 redistribution installed also. And completeted installation very easy...
I try to install last stable OS version (2.0.1).
Can be a stupid question... Did you copy the installer on XP desktop ? Or you have launced it from MAC Finder ? Often this gives trouble.
I use Parallers 5.0.0344 but was working also under 4.0 Release.
I use US/English settings under XP.

Let me know if you solve the problem.
Andrea
