Model Poses and center of mass
Model Poses and center of mass
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this, so maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I've gone through the examples already, so I know how to perform a simulation and my own analysis, but what I want to try to do right now seems a bit different. Basically, I would like to be able to change the pose of the model, by changing the angles in the coordinate window, and while I do that I would like to view how the center of mass of the model changes in real time as I change the pose. What I really want is to see if the character is balanced, so some way of viewing the projection of the COM onto the floor is what I would ideally want. I know I can calculate the center of mass, just not sure if I can do it dynamically in the way I just mentioned. Like I said, any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Model Poses and center of mass
In the Navigator window, open your model, right click on Bodies, check Show Mass Center. This will give you a green and black ball at the COM for the model that moves as you change coordinates. It won't project it to the floor, but still gives you a good idea of where it is if you change the viewpoints. To find where it actually is in relation to the model you could create a marker, move it to the COM and display the coordinates of it in relation to any body.
