CMC and muscles crossing multiple joints

Hello,

I am hoping someone would be able to explain how CMC accounts for the torque caused by muscles that cross multiple coordinates. I just want to make sure that I know what is going on.

If I understand correctly, CMC uses static optimization to distribute the load for a desired acceleration, and the desired acceleration is based on the position and velocities from each time in the task. In this case, how does torque generated by a muscle, used to actuate a distal joint, effect the motion of a proximal joint that muscle crosses? Will this torque influence the desired acceleration of the next time step? If so how, or is there another indirect way that this is accounted for?

Any comments would be a huge help, or if anyone has thought of a similar issue that would be great too.

Thanks,

Alex
