Problem with wrist model

Post by Kamil Antos » Fri Jan 10, 2014 1:54 am

I work on wrist model. I tried to add new joint for middle finger because I would like simulate move of middle finger. I prepared new joint (MCP3) based on joint for index finger (MCP2) but middle finger still doesn't move correctly.
I noticed that mass centre of middle finger (midfinger) is exactly in the same place as mass centre of matercarpal bone ( metacarpal3) and middle finger cannot moved properly. For index finger, mass centre of (Iphalanx1 )and matercarpal bone (metacarpal2) are in different places.
I enclose picture with mass centre for index finger and middle finger:

Is it bug in wrist model or my misunderstanding? How should I model joint for middle finger?

hi,

I guess MP3 was a weldJoint (fixed joint) before, and you want to add a joint
like MP2.

The problem is the location of MP3 in parent body should not be (0,-0.03, 0)
You need to redefined it.
I redefined it by estimate the joint center of MP3.

How can I send you the modified model?
