Moment decomposition

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a project where I am interested in the Coriolis and centrifugal forces of a movement. As these are included in the formula to perform the Inverse Dynamics tool, I wanted to ask if it possible to decompose the obtained moment data into it's different components?

Thank you very much for your help

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Getting these values are not easy, in the current setup. They are part of the Simbody::multiBodySystem and are not yet accessible through the OpenSim API. The induced accelerations analysis has a work around so if you look into the source.cpp files you should be able to find this method.

Please let us know if you are still having difficulty and we can organize a more detailed description.

let us know how it goes,

Hi James,

Thank you very much for your help. It seems that the Induced Acceleration Analysis gives me the data that I am interested in. Do you know if this analysis works for an upper body movement without any ground reaction forces?

Thanks
Patrick
