Forward Dynamics vs Analyze Tool

Post by Cosimo Aloisi » Mon Jul 21, 2014 8:55 am

Hi everybody,

I'm quite new about OpenSim and I'm using it to explore the effect of various muscle parameters on the height reached with a squatjump.

I've prepared some models .osim with different muscle parameters: for each one do I have to execute the 'Forward Dynamics' tool or the 'Analyze' one?
I'm a bit confused about the differences between these two tools because in my opinion they're very similar.

Thanks very much!

Best regards,

Hi Cosimo,

The Analyze Tool is used after you have successfully run a simulation (static, CMC, forward). Analyze Tool takes a simulation output states and runs a specific analysis to get a specific set of outputs.
