Determining Imported Object Properties

Post by Kamin Beyer » Thu Aug 28, 2014 8:02 am

Hello,

I have recently built a model that has an imported .stl object that is acting as a stiff element in the model, however I cannot seem to find any information on what the properties for this object is. I am assuming that it is being modeled similar to bone, just as a stiff material with the same properties for simplicity in the program, but I am not completely sure on this. So is there a way to find out what the properties are for the imported object? Or are the values used for it just what the values for bone are?

Hi Kamin,

Importing a visual object doesn't give it any contact properties. You will have to add a contact geometry to your model and define your own properties. There is an example model on a previous thread found here; https://simtk.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=4404
