Gait2392 model height discrepancy

Post by Margaret Van Horn » Tue Jan 13, 2015 11:15 am

Hi,

I am interested in determining the height of the Gait2392 model. Using the Gait2392_simbody.osim file I put one marker on the top of the model's head and one marker on the bottom of the model's foot and calculated the linear y distance in the ground frame. It came out to be about 1.66 m, however the OpenSim documentation for this model states "The default, unscaled version of these models represents a subject that is about 1.8 m tall and has a mass of 75.16 kg."

Can anyone clarify why there is this discrepancy? Are the geometric/inertial properties of each body segment based on a 1.8 or 1.7 m subject?

Thank you for the help!
