Model View Freezes

Hello,

Whenever a change is made to a model, such as the loading of a motion or simulation, the change is not visible unless I somehow refresh the model view. That is, in order to see a change in the model, I must translate the center of the screen, or rotate the model, or zoom in/out, in order to observe the processing of the model.

Has anyone experienced this before? Could this possibly be a hardware issue (dual-core, 4 thread, 2.4 GHz processor)?

It surely is a hardware issue. I faced similar problem only in version 3.3 in my laptop AMD A8 2.7 Ghz processor with 4 GB RAM, however it disappears in my lab computer having Xeon processor and 32 GB RAM.

Try using version 3.2 it might solve the problem however there are few useful features in 3.3 if you are using static optimization and scaling.

I have been having the same issue with version 3.3. The model display won't refresh unless I perform some kind of manual input that forces it to refresh (zoom in/out, rotate, etc). Even motions won't animate. I don't have this issue with version 3.2.

Hi all,

Did these problems start happening in version 3.3 and didn't happen in 3.2 on the same machine with same models, same platform (32 vs. 64)? If so that would rule out hardware issues but may point to JRE version since the changes in the GUI were unrelated to visualization but version 3.3 uses a more recent JRE.

One thing that was observed in the past on some machines (particularly with slower graphics cards) is that this problem occurs only when restarting the application with a complex model already open. In that case it may help to close the view window and open a new view window and the new window works just fine.

Please let me know what you find out,

Best regards,
