High residual forces

Hi all,
I am using a slightly modified version of the two-legged arnold model and am simulating stair descending.
However, my SO leads to very high residual forces (up to -900 N resp. +600 N (see attach.)).
The simulation is constrained to a time where ground-forces are reacting onto my model. What else could a reason be or how can I track down that issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!
