Converting ASC to OBJ file

Post by Samuel Parker » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:08 pm

I am trying to convert bone geometry that is saved as ASC into a filetype that I can use with any sort of modeling program, such as Blender or Solidworks. I've tried opening the files in excel and exporting them as OBJ files, but the files seem to be corrupted when I attempt to open them in the modeling program. Any advice?

Hi Sam,

Have you tried to use MeshLab to convert files?

Actually I never tried converting .asc to .obj, but only .stl to .obj.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. It turns out that, as other users have posted, going from ASC through ParaView through Meshlab allows for the file to be saved as a .STL file.
