Import from SIMM - bodies stuck in world zero location

Post by Chris Basu » Tue May 31, 2016 7:55 am

Hi,

I'm trying to import models from SIMM 6.0 into OpenSim 3.3. I've removed the parts of the .jnt file which aren't supported, and now the model loads into OpenSim. But the different bodies (humerus, radius etc) have all moved to the world zero location. My model is now crumpled up in a sad heap.

Can't see where things have gone wrong in the joint file. I'm new to this of course, so no doubt I've done something bad!

Any pointers would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks,

Chris

Hi,

Try placing the model in the same directory with the geometry folders of the model if any. Which model did you try importing?

Maybe you missed something here!

Thanks for your reply Jim. It's a model I've made from scratch in SIMM 6.0.

Think this is the solution: the joint coordinate system translations in the Model Pose section from the joint file need to be copied over to the Gen Coords section. This seems to straighten things out.

Cheers!

Chris
