Hi!
I am beginner researcher in biomechanics. I am just start working with Open Sim.
Could you explaine me please what does muscle activation mean?
And could you give me links on papers about this theme?
Thank you

Hi,

I would encourage you to look at this page, which has a lot of information about everything:

http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:80 ... %27s+Guide

Muscle activation is an intermediate signal that is related to the force that the muscle develops. The activation dynamics models the physiological process of calcium release in the muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum given an excitation signal.

Good luck!

Thank`s you lot for your fast feedback!
I have another 2 questions, help me, please...

1) In the file "Joint Reaction Loads" is a value called, for example,
"ground_pelvis_on_pelvis_in_ground_px", what is "_p"?

2) We know how to count the Moment by the Force from the platform.
But how can I find the Moment by kinematics?

I`ll be very gratitude for your answer!

"p" stands for a point, "x" stand for coordinate.

I think you are interested in performing inverse dynamics analysis.

And can you just suggest me please, how can I calculate the moment of inertia of each segment in OpenSim?
