Staic optimization and EMG

Post by rajat das » Tue Jan 31, 2017 5:25 pm

Hi,
The muscle activation pattern I am getting from opensim is reversed that of the EMG result. What could be then possible reason. Kindly help me. I am using myo EMG band. For opensim activation 1 means full contraction.

What do you mean reversed (sign or non-overlapping)? Keep in mind that there are infinite solutions of excitation patterns that can reproduce the same movement. That is due to the fact that our system is redundant (there are more muscles than joints).

tau = R * fm

Thus when you solve for fm, you can find many solutions that satisfy the equality, and there is not a unique solution.
