modelling an lying pose / contact mesh

Hello everyone,

Nowadays, I'm trying to create a human lumbar spine model lying on posture with a back/ and with an abdomen.
And I have questions about it. Please give me a kind help :)

1. Can I make a lying pose only using a skeletal model and a ground body?
2. Can I attach a skin surface mesh nodes to the skeletal model? (by spring or something?) If it is possible, how can I do it? (just like body to body?)
3. I'm trying to make a contact with elastic foundation mesh-base force. And I want to set a contact force to a specific surface. (some part of the skin surface.) Is it possible?
4. Can I know check the deformation of the skin mesh?

The paper and corresponding SimTK project linked below use a mesh to simulate contact between the foot and ground. You might try using a similar approach.
