Joint location

Hello,

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. I am working on Opensim and I am trying to edit the Full Body Model (Rajagopal2015) and add head and neck joints in the model as well as the muscles. I am using Vasvada Neck model as a reference however after making the changes Opensim won't load the edited file and shows the error as, "Error reading end tag", "Required condition 'loadOK' was not met". Do you have any idea why does it show this error. I checked the format of the xml scripts used in both the model files and it is same.

Also, I had a question regarding the location of joints. How are they determined? Like how the three dimensional coordinates of a joint's location in it's parent body in Opensim is determined?

Also, when I try to open the Thoracolumbar Model the application crashes. Is this a problem with my computer or is it a problem with the software?

Thank you,
Mihir

I know you said you checked it, but unfortunately, there is still at least one incorrectly defined tag somewhere in the file. If you open the model in the GUI and there is an error, there will be a small red circle in the bottom right-hand corner of the application and that should give an indication of the type of error and which line of the model failed.

If you were building a model of a real system, you would try to use experimental data to determine the location of joints between bodies. In the case where you have existing geometry, you could use a marker to find the location of your proposed new joint

There are most likely components of the model that OpenSim is having an issue reading and the errors aren't being handled properly, so the software crashes. Try and find the out.txt or log.txt, they should have text stored from when the application crashed.
