Hi All!

I see that more and more people are interested in editing models and marker sets, as well as set up files, so I just wanted to suggest a couple of good XML editors I have found. When I first started working with OpenSim I wish I had known about a good (free!) XML editor... (besides Visual Studio). Many of you probably already have your favorite, so let me know what you think...

Notepad++: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

XML Marker: http://symbolclick.com/

Thanks a lot!

I tried to use the Xcarerows XML plugin for eclipse but it didnt work properly, so i did most of the editing in the common XML editor of eclipse.

I'll try your suggestions

Just wanted to give another vote to Notepad ++, and also recommend OpenXML Editor for lightweight XML editing especially on older machines as it has a small footprint.

Hi Daniel,

I have used OpenXML as well. It is definitely another good one!

Thanks,
Sam

It may not be for everyone, but I've found VIM (http://www.vim.org/) to be very useful for editing XML files as the color coding of tags is very easy on the eye.

However it can be a little clunky if you are not used to its shortcut keys and response to the mouse (they can be quite frustrating if you are used to typical Windows products).
