HELP Scaling issue. Calcaneus markers under the ground

Post by Alessandra Colangelo » Thu Sep 20, 2018 12:25 am

Dear all,

I need your help for a scaling issue.
First I collected my data with a BTS motion capture system and I converted them into trc and mot file with MoToNMS application
Then I assume that my experimental data are correct because I checked every static trial of my subjects in Opensim 3.2

The problem I am facing is that left and right calcaneus markers are displayed under the ground far away from both calcaneus bones after manual scaling.
Following Opensim User Guide to set the scaling tool including also Preview static pose (no marker movement), my model stands on its toes and its trunk bends forwards: at this moment blue markers of the calcaneus bones (my experimental data) are well located on the ground but away from the bones, while the red markers of the model 3DGait2392 are attached on the bones which are above the ground.
After a backup of my scaled model I visualize it standing right (all feet bones correctly on the ground) but both markers are under the ground away from calcaneus bones.
I have already tried using calcaneus weight 0.1 and the other 100, but nothing have changed.

Any suggestion to my problem? Thank you,
Alessandra
