Scapulothoracic joint model not opening
Hey guys,
I downloaded the scapulothoracic joint model (ScapulothorachicJoint_Shoulder.osim) but it simply does not open in OpenSim! The following error appears on the screen:
"CoordinateLimitForce: Invalid coordinate (scapula_upward_rot) specified in Actuator ScapulaRotationLimits"
I thought of opening it in Notepad++ to see if I could fix this error, but I didn't want to make any changes to the original model without understanding why this could happen in the first place.
Any possible explanation to this would be much appreciated!

Did you load the plugin for the model?

Hi James,
None of the three plugins available for the model could work. In fact, I had to create the plugin folder within my c:\OpenSim folder, as it was not originally created in this 4.0 version.
I'm following the instructions on this page (https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu/d ... ng+Plugins). Is there any specific instructions for the new OpenSIm version?

The plugins available on the SimTK project page don't work because they were built with a different version of OpenSim (3.3, not 4.0). You could download the code and re-build the plugin for 4.0 or ask the authors whether there is a 4.0-compatible release.None of the three plugins available for the model could work.

Thank you Thomas, I'll download the 3.3 version, it's the quickest option!
Re: Scapulothoracic joint model not opening
Plugins (MacOSX, WinX64) for 4.0 were just added to the SimTK page for the SacpulothoracicJoint: https://simtk.org/frs/download_confirm. ... oup_id=986

Hello everybody!
Thanks for your answers and thank you Ajay for the availability of the plugin.
I downloaded the .dll and pasted it in the "plugins" folder of my OpenSim 4.0 directory and then saw it appear in the Tools>User Plugins menu.
But then when I click, I receive an information pop-up mentioning : "Error trying to load library ScapulothoracicJointPlugin40_WinX64. Library not loaded". Are there some specifications required to load this plugin with OpenSim 4.0 or is it linked to the fact that the 4.0 version is still in beta version?
Thanks for your answer
Samuel

OpenSim 4.0 is no longer in beta. If you are using a beta version, my first recommendation for troubleshooting is to download the most recent release.is it linked to the fact that the 4.0 version is still in beta version?

Hi Thomas!
Actually that was the case, I had multiple versions of 4.0 so I uninstalled all and re-installed the latest, and now it's working (at least for Windows)
Thank you guys!

Re: Scapulothoracic joint model not opening
Hello everyone.
I'm a french student currently using opensim on my master's thesis subject.
I have problems opening the ScapulothoracicJoint with my Mac
OpenSim says "Object::newInstanceOfType(): object type 'ScapulothoracicJoint' is not a registered Object!
Object type ScapulothoracicJoint not recognized"
I copied the "libScapulothoracicJointPlugin40.dylib" file in the OpenSim 4.0 folder. I didn't find any plugin folder so I created one. I think the problem may come from this, since I don't have access to the plugin in Menu-Tools-User's plugins.
Can anyone help me to correctly load the plugin please?
