When I open Opensim 3.3, it shows a netbeans interface. For example, File menu has Open File and Open Recent File and Page Setup, but nothing about opening a model or setting Preferences. If I open an osim file it displays the text.
There must be some configuration issue. I installed in Windows 64 using the installer. I have uninstalled, removed the install directory, and rebooted and reinstalled but it always opens the same way. There must be some hidden state that tells netbeans to open up the opensim gui. How can I reset the interface?

Re: Osim 3.3 gui shows netbeans menus
Hi Mike,
If I want to guess I'd say it's probably permissions issue where OpenSim GUI can't create preferences/settings folder and so it ends up with the default netbeans view/look. The settiings are usually stored in a folder .opensim, the location depends on the platform/Windows-version but described here

Hope this helps,

Re: Osim 3.3 gui shows netbeans menus
Thanks! On Win7 the prefs are in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\.opensim\3.3.0x64 (I had to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files to find it).
It was indeed read only, so I set it to read/write. OpenSim still didn't work right until I uninstalled, removed the preference directory and all the OpenSim files, and then re-installed. Now it works right! I really appreciate your quick suggestion!
