Run OpenSim GUI with Wine in Linux

Post by Mary K » Sat Oct 24, 2015 8:43 am

Hello there,
has anyone run the OpenSim GUI at Linux using Wine?
A have successfully run OpenSim 3.2 but it doesn't seem to work with OpenSim 3.3.
Any ideas with the configuration of Wine maybe?

Thank you,
Maria

P.S.: My pc has 64-bit Linux Mint.

Hi Maria,

None of the dev team have used wine to open the GUI. There wasn't any substantial changes between 3.2 and 3.3; however we have been seeing errors associated with JVM which you can read here. This may be associated with the problem you are having, but without a testing environment we won't be able to give you a firm answer.
