issues in working with vtp model files
hello everyone
i have arteriofemoral models in vtp format and i want to simulate them so can have pulsatile flow results.
as i have hollow models(without mri datasets), please guide me how can i create model faces and mesh so i can run simulation.
regards,
farah

Hi farah
If you already a model in vtp, you can create a new project and import it, and extract faces and generate a mesh. You can checkout SimVascular documentation at www.simvascular.org. The website provides comprenhensive guides about modeling, meshing, simulation.
Importing models: http://simvascular.github.io/docsModelG ... tingModels
Extracting faces: http://simvascular.github.io/docsModelG ... yDataFaces

Re: issues in working with vtp model files
hi Lan
thanks for the links
Unfortunately . vtp model is making an error in attachment so i have attached an image of the model i wanted to create model for ,
i have created a new project and import the model but when in model module extract face option is not visible.
should i have to create path and segmentation before creating model faces ?
regards

Re: issues in working with vtp model files
Hi farah,
I found you put a vtp in the "Images" folder. It may cause issues. This folder is supposed to be a container for images.
If you import a vtp model, it should be a PolyData model in SimVascular, but why is yours an OpenCASCADE model?

Hi Lin,
i have open the model as you guide me (as a model in SV and its polydata model)
but still my model didn't show any face in faces list even after applying extract faces option.
could you please guide me how can i create faces of my artery model if there aren't have separate faces itself.
images of opening my model in SV are attached here.
regards

Re: issues in working with vtp model files
I think SV already provide the reason why it didn't work.
In the first figure, if you click yes, SV will triangulate the model surface.
In the second figure, the status bar in the bottom shows "Surface contains non-triangular elements! ...."
In the first step, if SV doesn't succeed in triangulating, you need convert it to a triangulated surface before importing into SV.

Re: issues in working with vtp model files
You can use the Triangulate filter in Paraview.

Hi Farah,
I noticed in your screenshots that you do not have faces extracted from your surface. You need to have faces in order to mesh. Use the modeling tab to first extract faces of your mesh.
Thanks!
