Generated mesh is scaled down in size

Post by Ghazal Adeli Koudehi » Mon Aug 21, 2017 8:23 am

Hi,

I am new to SimVascular and I'm just following the Quick guide file to build a simple demo model. I'm using a TetGen mesh type as suggested in the tutorial and I don't change the default values either but the generated mesh looks like a scaled down version of the model, like 20 times smaller!

Anyone knows why that happened?

Thanks

Hi Ghazal,

Are you using the image and the data from the Quick guide?

Thanks!

Hi Ghazal,

I just created a mesh using the default values and the model from the Quick guide, and it is the same size as the model.

Did you create a different model than the one given?

Thanks!

Dear Adam,

When I use the "demo" model of the Quick guide I also get the same sized mesh. For my model I just used the images of the Quick guide. So what do you think the problem can be? When I added the images I put 1 for the scaling so I don't think that's the issue.

I wanted t attach the SVproject or the meshes here but unfortunately it's too big.

Thank you for your help.

Ghazal

Instead of creating a new project and importing the data, you can use "Open Project" and load the entire downloaded project. Nothing will be scaled that way for sure.

You can upload the project somewhere (like Dropbox) for me to download and I can check it out.

Thanks!

Hi Ghazal,

I downloaded your project and used your created model to create a mesh with default valuesl. The mesh I get is exactly the same size as the model. Here is the project:

What operating system are you on and what version of SimVascular do you have? This may be an os/version specific bug.

Thanks!

Dear Adam,

I opened my file again to rebuild a new mesh. It crashed first, but as I tried a second time the mesh was build at the proper size. So the issue is temporarily resolved now. I have a 64-bit operating system with Windows 10.

Okay, glad it worked.

Please post again if you can replicate the scaled down mesh size issue. If there is in fact a bug here, it would be good to get it fixed.

Thanks!
