I am modeling a bipennate muscle where the internal tendon does not extend all the way to the muscle's origin — i.e., it starts at about 25% of the length of the musculotendon unit and then continues all the way to the insertion. In terms of modeling, is it best to place the origin at the actual origin (where the fascicles originate) or should I place the origin where the tendon begins? Thanks!

Re: modeling bipennate muscles
Hi Ashley,
Although in OpenSim each muscle is under the Tab "Muscles" , in fact these represent a MTU so a muscle-tendon unit. Based on this I would place the origin at the start of the actual tendon for that "section" of the bipennate muscle.
Hope that helps
