Constraints, CMC

Post by Arash Mohammadzadeh Gonabadi » Mon Oct 22, 2018 11:07 pm

Hello,

I have some question about the constraints in CMC:

- How can we find the best constraint which is convenient for CMC?
- Do we need to make the constraints according to the experimental EMG signals?
- If we do not have the EMG signals, how we can find the best constraints?

Thank you.

Best,
Arash

Hi Arash,

Control constraints are not necessary to run CMC. Sometimes, it might be helpful to include control constraints to specify when certain muscles are on/off (e.g., constrain the plantarflexors to be off in mid-swing in walking) to help shape the feasible solution space, and this can be done using . There are some examples included with the OpenSim installation that use control constraints that you can use as a reference. You could also browse the SimTK forum and other projects to find examples of how others have used control constraints in CMC (e.g., I believe Sam Hamner shared all of his data and setup files to generate his CMC running simulations on his SimTK project page).

Cheers,

Hi Apoorva,

Thank you so much for your respond, and my apologies for responding late.

Best,
Arash
