How to output the rotation of the knee on the x y z-axis

Post by pan zhengye » Tue Jun 04, 2019 8:52 pm

Hello,I am a student from Wuhan Institute of physical Education, thank you very much for getting the right to use opensim.

I want to adjust my finite element model through the knee angle.

And I have some questions about the output of knee posture:
1Why can I only export the flexion and extension angle of the knee

2How to output the rotation angle of the knee joint around the x y z axis

3How does opensim define the knee coordinate system

These questions are very important to my experiment. Thank you very much for reply. I'll be waiting for answers.

Hi, Pan-

The standard knee model is only a single degree of freedom knee model-- flexion/extension with coupled translation. A description of the knee joint can be found here. If you want to include more degrees of freedom, you will have to edit the model to add them. You could also look at downloading a community contributed model here on SimTK, one such model is here.

Goodluck,
-J
