Chaning model marker size

Post by Brody Hicks » Wed Jun 19, 2019 12:01 pm

I am trying to change the model marker size for a model in OpenSim 4.0. The model I am using was created before 4.0 was released.
When I open the model in OpenSim 3.3, there is a place in the marker properties section for me to change the model marker size. However, if I open the exact same model in 4.0, that option is no longer available and I am unable to change the size of my modeled markers.
I noticed that the Edit>preferences section has a space to adjust experimental marker radius. Is there a way to do something similar for the model markers? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi William,

In version 3.3 and earlier, the GUI/application was responsible for drawing all the visualization so it had control over what shape/size/color etc. to show. With the move to 4.0, the "Components" that make the model are more autonomous (they provide their own geometry for display), unfortunately this means that the application does not control how components (Markers in this case) are displayed.

We're investigating options to give users more control, and it would help to know your use case so we can account for it in the future.

If you can open a bug report, that would be helpful so the issue doesn't fall through the cracks.

Best regards,
-Ayman
