Why we provide external forces in ID process?

Why we provide external loads when we go for ID process. It should be provide for normal human walking also.

If you want to compute joint moments, you require the external forces being applied to the system. During human Gait, the external forces are typically collected from forceplates. You can read more here; https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... mics+Works
