OpenSim 4.0 Scaling Error

Post by Alexia S. » Fri Nov 15, 2019 2:20 pm

I'm a new user of OpenSim and still working my way up the learning curve- maybe a more experienced user will recognize this problem.

I've processed VICON marker data for a standing calibration trial using the Lee-Son toolbox 2.2.0 and I am attempting to use it to scale the Rajagopal model in OpenSim 4.0 (frustratingly, I can't seem to attach .trc files to a forum post, so I've had to save it as a .txt file in order to attach it below - "40CCal01III.txt" - it needs to be resaved as a .trc file in order to run, however).

I've added markers to the Rajagopal model ("Rajagopal2015Marked.osim"- markers are also attached as "markersIV.xml"). When I try to scale the model using the scaling setup file below ("Scale Settings File Attempt 5.xml"), that's when things start to go wrong. The Rajagopal model scales, and the markerset appears in the position of the person in the standing calibration .trc file, but the markers aren't on the model, nor are they scaled. You can see the attached below titled Capture.png for a quick idea of what's going on.

I'm stumped, and I haven't been able to find something similar in the forum. Any idea as to where I've gone wrong?

You may want to start with the markers-- all of your markers are connected to "ground" and not to model bodies.

Thank you James, associating the markers with segments seems to have resolved the issue!
