Hi there

I folloewd to the link https://simtk.org/forum/message.php?msg_id=2883
That guided me to https://simtk.org/forum/message.php?msg_id=2723
Than I downloaded the "jre6 update 16" (from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp), and edited the "opensim.conf" to jdkhome="C:\Program Files\Java\jre6"

Now I am getting the following three errors (at least now, the OpenSim open):

1. An error information window show up
"Required Library failed to load. Check that the dynamics library osimJavaJNI is in your PATH java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpensSim 2.0\bin\osimJavaJNI.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit.dll on a AMD 64-bit plataform"

2. And when I open...

java.lang.AssertionError: WindowsAPI is required to be called from AWT thread only, see http://www.netbeans.org/download/dev/ja ... ading.html
at org.netbeans.core.windows.WindowManagerImpl.assertEventDispatchThread(WindowManagerImpl.java:1136)

at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source)

3. When I try to open a model

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.opensim.modeling.opensimModelJNI
at org.opensim.modeling.Model.<init>(Model.java:58)
at org.opensim.view.FileOpenOsimModelAction.loadModel(FileOpenOsimModelAction.java:153)

at org.netbeans.modules.openide.util.ActionsBridge$ActionRunnable.doRun(ActionsBridge.java:78)
at org.netbeans.modules.openide.util.ActionsBridge$1.run(ActionsBridge.java:47)
at org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Task.run(RequestProcessor.java:499)
[catch] at org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Processor.run(RequestProcessor.java:932)

So, Any suggestion?

Regards

Guilherme,

You should use a 32 bit Java VM (even if running on 64 bit m/c). The second assertion is benign and the third is a downstream side-effect of the first one (since the dll's are not loaded).

Try uninstalling the 64-bit JRE and install 32-bit instead and let us know how it goes,
-Ayman
