How to Export OpenSim4.0's Current Bone Geometry as .STL Files

Post by D T » Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:51 pm

Hi, I would like to export the native geometry .vtp files (for example, tibia_r.vtp) into .stl files for the purposes of importing them into SolidWorks. I intend to edit only a portion of the current geometry to visualize a mid tibia amputation and attached prosthetic, so I would like to start work from the original bone geometry.

The only information I am able to find is mention of being able to perform the conversion through a chain of programs (vmtksurfacewriter, blender, etc.), however I am quite unfamiliar with those programs and wanted to know if there is a solution anyone had used in the past.

Any and all information/direction is appreciated.

Hi,

I use ParaView to preview (.vtp) files and export them to (.stl).
Here is the link:

Cheers
